This week's A&M Album Of The Week is from Gram Parsons & The Flying Burrito Brothers: SLEEPLESS NIGHTS (SP-4578). In our A&M/CTi/Horizon Jazz forum, the AOTW is from Mark-Almond: OTHER PEOPLES ROOMS (SP-730). Our Carpenters forum is also featuring "THE OFFICIAL REVIEW", hosted by moderator Chris May, where you can participate in an ongoing discussion about each Carpenters album in detail. Recent releases of note include the "Rewhipped" version of Whipped Cream and Other Delights, and the new Grammy-nominated Sergio Mendes collaboration with will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas: Timeless.
Did You Know? The song "I Can't Go On Livin' Baby Without You" from the TJB's "You Smile..." album, was done vocally by actor Chad Everett (Medical Center), on an album called "All Strung Out". (Contributed by Steven Gross.)
Larry Levine, R.I.P.
Legendary recording engineer Larry Levine, who engineered many A&M albums back in the day, as well as for Phil Spector and countless others, passed away in his sleep last night, on his 80th birthday. Remembrances can be posted in our forum.

New Sergio Mendes Album!
Sergio Mendes has a new album called ENCANTO. It's out in Japan and the reviews have been very favorable. Guest artists on the album include none other than Lani Hall and Herb Alpert, and a worldwide roster of talent from Fergie to Juanes, Will.I.Am to Natalie Cole, Siedah Garrett to Vanessa Da Mata, and Ledisi to Zap Mama. The US release is pending for sometime this spring. More information as it's available. Many of our members have gotten the advance Japanese release and are discussing it here. Join in!

Pete Jolly's SEASONS is out on CD!
Pete Jolly's third effort for A&M called SEASONS has been reissued by Dusty Groove, by special arrangement with Universal Special Markets. Read all about it in our discussion forum. You can order the CD direct from Dusty Groove's website.

Shout! Factory releases RISE.
Herb Alpert's top ten album with the number one hit song Rise has been re-released by Shout! Factory. Long out of print, the album is once again available to the public both as a deluxe edition CD and as a download through iTunes. Our discussion, comments, and poll can be found here. Ten years ago, in March of 1997, a fellow named Rudy, along with a few compadres, decided to give the great old music on the A&M label a home on the World Wide Web. Now, ten years later, the site is celebrating the beginning of its second decade of "Preserving The Sound Online" as the premiere destination for all things "A&M".
